What a week so far, with Jason Pierre-Paul of the Giants injuring himself with fireworks and golfer Rory McIlroy getting hurt playing a pickup soccer game. The timing was bad for each. The Giants pulled their long-term contract offer to Pierre-Paul off the table, for now anyway, over concern about the extent of his hand injuries.
