PHILADELPHIA — Aaron Hicks gave Luis Severino an early lead — and the Yankees’ 24-year-old ace took care of the rest.
Hicks led off the game with a 411-foot homer to center, Severino outpitched Jake Arrieta and the Bombers rolled to their second straight victory over the Phillies, 6-0, on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.
Severino (12-2, 2.10 ERA) went seven shutout innings, allowing six hits while striking out nine and walking none.
Hicks went 2-for-4 with his 11th homer of the year and two RBI. He has six homers in June.
