CC Sabathia underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Tuesday, a procedure that general manager Brian Cashman described last week as a routine "cleanup." He is expected to be ready for spring training.
"It's not something that's of concern or considered serious," Cashman said last Wednesday during his end-of-season press conference at the stadium.
The 36-year-old Sabathia, after three straight rough seasons caused at least in part by a bothersome right knee, went 9-12 this year but with a 3.91 ERA. It was the lefthander's lowest ERA since 2012.
