Matt Barnes Says Red Sox Want Him In Bullpen; Running Newtown Ball Clinic Saturday

Matt Barnes spent a season shuttling between Pawtucket and Boston, between the starting rotation and the bullpen, collecting a rookie's experiences.

"The whole year was a learning experience for me," said Barnes, the Red Sox's first-round draft pick of 2011 out of UConn. "I guess I'll say that every year, because you never stop learning in this game. I was learning how to be a reliever and I felt like when I got back up there I figured some things out. The stats weren't fantastic, but it was good to finish on an up note and have that to build on."
