    Chargers tight end Antonio Gates was suspended for violating the NFL's performance enhancing drug policy. Jets defensive end Sheldon Richardson was suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Both will sit out four games. Richardson's response was the more respectable one. He tweeted, "I vow to you, this will not happen again," and he simply apologized in a statement. Gates said much the same, but he prefaced it all with the tired "didn't knowingly" take a banned substance approach.
