Barrage of homers power A's past Twins

OAKLAND, Calif. If the A's have finally figured out left-handed starting pitchers, it couldn't come at a much better time. Sunday's 14-1 win over ex-teammate Tommy Milone and the Twins will be followed by two more games against lefties this week when Toronto visits. The A's came into Sunday a Major League-worst 5-17 against lefties, then proceeded to leave the yard at a furious pace, ultimately turning in their first five-homer game in 14 months. Josh Phegley and Billy Butler hit two-run bombs off Milone and Jake Smolinski added a solo shot as Oakland ran Milone out of the game by scoring seven times in the first three innings.
