Mets, Harvey Reach 1-Year Deal

NEW YORK — Pitcher Matt Harvey and the New York Mets reached a one-year deal for $4.325 million on Friday, rather than go to salary arbitration.

The Mets also settled with four other players. They exchanged arbitration figures with first baseman Lucas Duda and three others.

Harvey, of Mystic, Conn., made $614,000 last year while going 13-8 with a 2.71 ERA in his first season back from Tommy John surgery. Harvey can make additional $25,000 for pitching 200 innings — he threw 189 1/3 last year amid much talk about an innings limit — and $25,000 for winning the Cy Young Award.
