Red Sox Broadcaster Jerry Remy Announces Cancer Relapse

Longtime Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy announced Monday on Twitter that he has had a cancer relapse during the offseason but he's going to be fine.

Remy, 64, who has called just under 4,000 Red Sox games since 1988, plans to continue working as a color analyst on telecasts this season. In January, NESN announced Remy had signed a new multiyear contract extension that would include 115 games per season.
