Craig Breslow, For The Love Of The Game, Presses On; New Hampshire Sweeps Yard Goats

Craig Breslow, a few years removed from a World Series appearance, a few months since his most recent major league game, came in to pitch at Dunkin’ Donuts Park on Opening Night.

Some of his teammates were barely half his age, one was the son of Vladimir Guerrero, whom Breslow retired all five times he faced him in the major leagues.

But Breslow keeps at it, always looking for new ways to deceive the hitters. He retired the three Yard Goats hitters he faced Thursday, striking out two to strand two base runners. Two nights later, he was back on the mound, retiring two left-handed batters to finish another victory for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Five up, five down, three...
