  • On The Fly: World Series Local Links

Who are you pulling for in the World Series? The Kansas Royals are America's Team, but the San Francisco Giants have some strong Eastern Connecticut links. Travis Ishikawa, whose NLCS Game 5 walk-off home run sent the Giants to the World Series, spent parts of three seasons (2006, 2007, 2008) in Norwich. Also part of the 2008 Defenders: Pablo Sandoval and Sergio Romo. The 2009 team, which lost in the Eastern League final, included shortstop Brandon Crawford and ace Madison Bumgarner, who was 9-1 for Connecticut.
