ATLANTA — At least Mickey Callaway didn’t have to see this one up-close and personal.
Instead he could scream at the TV in private as Ozzie Albies crushed a grand slam off Paul Sewald in the bottom of the sixth as the Braves beat the Mets 8-2 at SunTrust Park Tuesday night.
It was the ninth loss in the last 10 games for the Mets (28-35) and their eighth loss in 11 games to the Braves (38-28) this season.
Callaway, who’s been determined to remain even keel, had never seemed visibly upset when the Mets threw away their 11-1 start to the season.
Tuesday night, however, maybe grasping for anything that could stop the freefall, he showed an emotional side.
