Pirates romp over Cardinals, 9-3

ST. LOUIS The Pittsburgh Pirates need to make a move this weekend if they are to make a fight of it in the National League Central standings. They got off to a good start with a 9-3 victory over the Cardinals in front of 44,338 mostly quiet fans Friday at Busch Stadium. The teams will continue a three-game series on Saturday.
