Junior right-hander Kevin Mooney (North Harford) recorded a five-out save Saturday night to break No. 25 Maryland's all-time saves record and highlight the Terps' weekend sweep of visiting Minnesota in their inaugural Big Ten Conference series. Junior third baseman Jose Cuas hit three home runs in the first two games of the series for Maryland (17-4, 3-0), which opened Saturday with a 5-1 win and finished it with a 12-9 victory. In Game 2, after the Terps had rallied from an early 7-0 deficit, Mooney came on for his second save of his season and 24th of his career, breaking Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Brett Cecil's record. On Sunday, sophomore second baseman Brandon Lowe had three hits and two RBIs to lead Maryland to an 8-3 win over the Golden Gophers (7-13, 0-3).
