Sebring International Raceway brings the speed in Highlands County

One of the big draws to Highlands County is Sebring International Raceway, one of the oldest continuously operating race tracks in the U.S. 

Sebring's first race was the Sam Collier 6 Hour Memorial race, which was held on New Year's Eve in 1950. Before that, the area served as Hendricks Army Airfield training base. The track still occupies a portion of what is now Sebring Regional Airport, an active private and commercial airport.
