In bloom: More than 1,000 flowers fill Delray's Cornell Art Museum

Here’s how the Cornell Art Museum in Delray Beach will celebrate the recent arrival of spring: by filling the entire museum with flowers.

There are Swarovski crystal-bejeweled flowers, giant dandelions that dangle upside-down from the museum’s ceiling and Andy Warhol’s early ink drawings of flowers in cups. Artist David Spiller’s pop art painting “Tell It to the Stars” depicts a pair of flowers in bloom. One Cornell gallery contains artist Amanda McCavour’s “Floating Garden,” a cascade of 1,000 embroidered dailies, buttercups and asters assembled into a colorful tapestry on the ceiling.
