At 1,100 sites and cemeteries around the nation, wreaths were placed at war monuments and the graves of veterans, as part of Wreaths Across America, on Dec. 17.
The Abe E. Miller American Legion Post 133 held a ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park in South Windsor, the home to monuments and markers that recognize past conflicts and the military branches. Volunteers swept away the freshly fallen snow shortly before the ceremony.
