Nursing home exec accused of stealing $12K from patient, 79

A nursing home executive was arrested on suspicion of stealing $12,466 from a dementia patient in a Fort Lauderdale facility, the Florida attorney general's office said. Cathy Hanna, 42, of Fort Lauderdale, former director of admissions at Harbor Beach Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fort Lauderdale, became close to a 79-year-old patient, according to a state probable cause affidavit. Between Sept. 4, 2012 and Oct. 9, 2012, the female patient, who has since died, went twice to a bank with Hanna and another nursing home worker and a total of $11,527 was withdrawn from her account.
