Money for new homeless shelters available

Organizations interested in providing shelter or re-housing services to homeless people in Carroll County can apply now for up to $50,000 in federal funds through the Carroll County Circle of Caring Homelessness Board, according to Rita Zimmerman, deputy director of Carroll County Housing and Community Development. Letters of intent must be submitted to the Homelessness Board by Sept. 30 and completed applications are due by Oct. 20, according to a news release.
