Ceremony Celebrates State Military Department's Antidiscrimination Policy

HARTFORD — Gov. Dannel P. Malloy held a ceremony Wednesday, in a largely symbolic gesture, celebrating the passage of a bill that broadens the state Military Department's antidiscrimination policy.

"Connecticut has led the way on civil rights issues throughout the history of our nation and I am proud that we continue to do so today,'' the Democratic governor said during a brief ceremony in the small park adjacent to the state armory, as a group of uniformed members of the National Guard looked on.
