26-year-old man gets four years in prison for FAMU hazing death

Each time the Pam and Robert Champion attend a sentencing for someone convicted in the 2011 hazing death of their son, they feel the punishment doesn't send a strong enough message that hazing cannot be tolerated.

Friday was no different for the Georgia couple.

A judge sentenced Caleb Jackson to four years in prison for taking part in the Florida A&M University marching band ritual that ended their son Robert's life. Jackson, 26, pleaded no contest to manslaughter and felony hazing in 2013.

When Circuit Judge Marc Lubet indicated he would stray from the minimum sentence of 10 years, Pam Champion left the courtroom.
