A new team of police officers has been formed to fight drug abuse in four towns north of Hartford, police said.
Called the North Central Narcotics Task Force, the regional group will enforce state laws against the possession, manufacture and sale of illegal drugs in Enfield, East Windsor, Windsor Locks and Suffield, police said Friday.
The idea to form the task force came from the police chief of the biggest of the four towns, Enfield Chief Carl Sferrazza, according to Suffield Capt. Rick Brown. Suffield is dedicating one of its 20 sworn offices to the team.
