Senators sign F Camper

The Ottawa Senators signed forward Carter Camper to one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Wednesday.

In addition, the Senators formally announced the re-signings of forward Cole Schneider, defenseman Michael Sdao and defenseman Chris Wideman, all of whom the club had agreed to terms with at last week's NHL draft in Philadelphia.

Camper, 25, split last season between Providence and Springfield of the American Hockey League. He played in 41 games with Providence before being traded from the Boston Bruins to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Feb. 7.

The native of Rocky River, Ohio has scored one goal in three career NHL games, all of which occurred during the 2011-12 season with the Bruins. In 189 career AHL games, he has scored 41 goals and 107 assists for 148 points, while adding 50 penalty minutes.

Schneider, 23, signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Senators. He recently completed his third pro season with Binghamton, setting career highs in goals (20), assists (34) and points (54).

Sdao, 24, signed a two-year, two-way deal with Ottawa. He completed his first full season of pro hockey in 2013-14 with the B-Sens, recording 11 points (six goals, five assists) and 171 penalty minutes over 61 regular-season contests.

Wideman, 24, signed a one-year, two-way deal with the club. He completed his second season of pro hockey with Binghamton, setting career highs in all major statistical categories. He played in 73 games, scoring nine goals and adding 42 assists for 51 points, while recording 101 penalty minutes.
