Police: Broncos CB Talib not arrested

Dallas police admitted it mistakenly announced that Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib was arrested.

Police spokesman Max Geron apologized for the mistake, saying Sunday that Talib's brother Yaqub was actually arrested for public intoxication.

Aqib Talib spoke with Broncos security staff to assure the team he had not been arrested, refuting the initial report from the Dallas Police Department.

The department confirmed to USA Today in an email that its initial information was incorrect, and that it was Talib's older brother Yaqub who was taken to a detox facility after causing a disturbance at a Dallas nightclub.

Broncos spokesman Patrick Smyth told the newspaper that the cornerback was at home and not in police custody.
