Rose Byrne will follow up her role in Universal's hit "Neighbors" with a gig on Broadway, joining the cast of the upcoming revival of Moss Hart's "You Can't Take It With You" starting previews in August.
Byrne, making her Broadway debut, and Annaleigh Ashford ("Kinky Boots," "Masters of Sex") have signed on to a cast that already includes James Earl Jones and Kristine Neilsen. Mark Linn-Baker, Crystal A. Dickinson, Julie Halston and Reg Rogers also are among the ensemble.
Scott Ellis directs the revival, which will include original music by recent Tony winner Jason Robert Brown ("The Bridges of Madison County").
"You Can't Take It With You" kicks off previews Aug. 26 ahead of a Sept. 28 opening at the Longacre Theater. Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Jam Theatricals lead the producing team.
On the bigscreen, Byrne ("Bridesmaids," "Damages") has "This Is Where I Leave You" and "Annie" queued up for release later this year.
