What do Sean Penn, Blake Lively, Rashida Jones and Jake Gyllenhaal have in common? They're all in the star-studded promo video for Jay Z and Beyonce's highly-anticipated On The Run summer tour.
Melina Matsoukas directed the explosive vid, dubbed "Run," which clocks in at nearly four minutes and debuted Sunday. Guillermo Diaz, Emmy Rossum, Don Cheadle and Kidada Jones also appear in what seems to be a trailer for an action flick, complete with guns, robberies, fast cars and even some romance.
"I remember this one time when you told me that when the shit gets bigger than the cat, get rid of the cat," the hip hop star says to Penn in the clip. "I didn't know what the fuck you were talking about, until right now."
Cheadle is a business partner of Hov's, though a seemingly hostile one. Rossum is a gun-toting cop in the video, chasing after a fleeing Beyonce.
For her part, Lively expresses concern to Beyonce over her criminal life choices, which the singer attributes to her love for Jay Z.
The video serves as a nice distraction for the duo, as they've been in the headlines for the past week after a video leaked of Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles, attacking Jay Z in an elevator after the Met Gala. The three, however, issued a statement Thursday to say that they've put the incident behind them.
Beyonce and Jay Z will embark on a tour together starting June 25 in Miami, and make stops in at least 13 cities. The tour ends Aug. 5 in San Francisco.
