Looks like Hugh Jackman has some competition on Broadway next season: Producer James L. Nederlander has confirmed that Bradley Cooper will star in "The Elephant Man" this fall alongside Patricia Clarkson and Alessando Nivola.
All three thesps appeared in the play at the Williamstown Theater Festival in 2012, and the production has long since been talked about as a potential candidate for a New York transfer. Scott Ellis, who directed the play at WTF, returns to helm the Broadway version.
Cooper is the latest Hollywood name to book a Broadway run in the 2014-145 season, soon after Hugh Jackman skedded a stint in "The River" this fall. Exact dates and Broadway venue for "The Elephant Man" remain to be locked down.
