The Directors Guild of America has selected Lee Blaine as the recipient of its Frank Capra award and Vince DeDario for the Franklin J. Schaffner award.

The duo will be honored at the 66th Annual DGA Awards on Jan. 25 at the Century Plaza.

The Capra award is given to an assistant director or unit production manager in recognition of career achievement in the industry and service to the DGA. The Schaffner award goes to an associate director or stage manager.

Blaine joined the DGA in 1990 and has worked on thousands of commercials and hundreds of music videos. In 1999, he was elected chair of the Western AD/UPM Commercial Committee and served four times on the commercial contract negotiating committee.

DeDario joined the DGA in 1969 and spent the next three decades working for ABC on the broadcasts of sporting events including the Olympics; the Super Bowl; Monday Night Football; the World Series; the Indianapolis 500; the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes and the Tour de France. He served several times as an informal advisor to the staff and network negotiations committees on issues of sports jurisdiction.
