Otto Bathurst is on board to make his feature directorial debut on the Universal thriller "Midnight Delivery" starring Kevin Costner.

Guillermo del Toro is producing through his Del Toro Productions along with David Linde for his Lava Bear Films.

Neil Cross penned the script, based on an idea by del Toro. Gary Ungar, Tory Metzger and Russell Ackerman are exec producing.

Pic follows a father who becomes a drug mule to save his son's life. Universal's executive VP of production Scott Bernstein and creative executive Sara Scott will oversee the project.

Bathurst is best known for his work on British television including the "Black Mirror" series for Channel 4 and Charlie Brooker in 2011, and the BBC original miniseries "Criminal Justice" which won him a BAFTA. He most recently directed the BBC miniseries "Peaky-Blinders."

He is repped by WME, Casarotto Ramsay & Associates in the U.K. and attorney Michael Schenkman.
