Relatvity Media has backed away from a "Stretch Armstrong" movie.

"Stretch Armstrong is an incredible character who will make an amazing movie, and we know that Hasbro has some new ideas they are looking at. Relativity and Hasbro have a tremendous relationship, and we decided to focus on other projects," said Relativity spokesman David Shane. "We look forward to continuing to work together."

Relativity had picked up "Stretch Armstrong" last year after Universal had put the project into turnaround. Relativity and Hasbro had agreed for the action-figure-based would have a release date of April 11, 2014.

Stretch Armstrong was launched by Hasbro in 1976 and relaunched in the '90s as a toy that can be stretched repeatedly and always returned to his original size.
