Rosamund Pike is set to voice Lady Penelope in the re-invention of the popular kids TV series "Thunderbirds Are Go!"
Pike, who will also star in David Fincher's adaptation of bestselling tome "Gone Girl," will join a slew of thesps cast in the iconic series including original cast member David Graham, who will reprise his role as chauffer and international rescue agent Parker.
"Thunderbirds," created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, was first broadcast on ITV in 1965 and featured the Tracy family's emergency rescue service and their catchphrase "Thunderbirds are go!"
The new series will air in Blighty on ITV in 2015, 50 years after it's original debut and will use a mix of CGI animation and live-action miniature sets.
"Thunderbirds Are Go!" is produced by ITV Studios and New Zealand-based Pukeko Pictures, with Weta Workshop designing the series and producing the miniatures.
Series is exec produced by Estelle Hughes and Giles Ridge for ITV and Richard Taylor and Andrew Smith for Pukeko Pictures.
Head writer is Rob Hoegee ("Generator Rex") and series director is David Scott ("LEGO Star Wars"), with Theo Baynton ("the WotWots") as episodic director.
The 26 episodes have been picked up by Jamila Metran, head of programming for CITV (ITV's children's network) and is currently in production.
