Sean Combs, Audra McDonald and Phylicia Rashad.
In the new production, Washington will star as Walter Lee Younger, the head of an African American family in 1950s Chicago, forced to juggle his own dreams and ambitions with those of his mother (Carroll), his wife (Okonedo) and his daughter (Rose).
Production marks the latest play revival with a powerhouse Hollywood cast from producer Scott Rudin, whose recent Broadway credits have included not only "Fences" but last year's "Death of a Salesman" starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Andrew Garfield. Up next: "Betrayal" starring Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, set to open in the fall.
"Raisin in the Sun" begins previews March 8 ahead of an April 3 opening at the Barrymore.
