According to Nielsen estimates for the week of July 22-26, "ABC World News" averaged 1.917 million adults 25-54 to 1.879 million for "NBC Nightly News" and 1.506 million for "CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley." The Alphabet program, which was boosted by Sawyer's exclusive interview with Juror B29 in the George Zimmerman trial, was up vs. the comparable week a year ago, while NBC and CBS were both down.
NBC remained on top in total viewers with 7.536 million, followed by ABC (7.287 million) and CBS (5.954 million). But this is the closest "World News" has been to "Nightly News" in this category since last September.
