NBC has found its judge replacement for Sara Bareilles on "The Sing-Off": folk singer Jewel.
Jewel joins returning judges Ben Folds and Shawn Stockman at the judges' table for the fourth season of the a cappella singing competition, which is slated to air as a strip in December. NBC announced the return of "Sing-Off" in March.
'The Sing-Off' judges panel, along with our stellar team of Shawn Stockman and Ben Folds, raises the showmanship of the series up another notch," said Paul Telegdy, NBC's President of Alternative and Late Night Programming.
Peacock also announced that Nick Lachey will return to host "The Sing-Off." Currently, he serves as host on NBC's summer singing competish show "The Winner Is."
"The Sing-Off" exec producer Mark Burnett said: "I am so thrilled to welcome Jewel to our expert musical panel. Jewel is one of America's greatest singer songwriters and is an amazing storyteller. In company with the incredible talent of Ben Folds, Shawn Stockman and Nick Lachey this season of 'The Sing-Off' is sure to be its best yet."
Jewel is no stranger to singing competition skeins, especially of the Burnett-produced variety, as the chantoosie guest-mentored on "The Voice" last spring. Along with recently releasing a greatest hits album, Jewel toplined Lifetime telepic "Ring of Fire," where she starred as June Carter Cash, wife of Johnny Cash.
