Two poker rooms are taking divergent routes to giving away trips on a poker cruise.
The Ante Up Poker Cruise features a professionally run and equipped poker room aboard regularly scheduled Royal Caribbean cruises. Each cruise features cash games, multi-table tournaments, single-table tournaments, free poker classes and an open-bar cocktail party. Two more cruises are planned for 2012: Aug. 27 out of Port Canaveral, Fla.; and Nov. 10 out of Baltimore, Md.
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood will be giving away two Ante Up Poker Cruise packages for the summer sailing in its July freeroll.
The first 200 players who log 40 hours of net cash-game play from July 1-21 will be entered into a freeroll tournament on July 29. The two top finishers will win a stateroom for up to two people on the Aug. 27 sailing out of Port Canaveral, Fla., and the top 40 players will get a $250 seat in a satellite for the Summer Splash main event.
Every hour from 1-10 p.m. every Saturday in July, one table and seat number will be drawn at random and the winner will get a stateroom for up to two people on the Aug. 27 sailing out of Port Canaveral.
Ante Up is a poker magazine created by Scott Long and Christopher Cosenza, former St. Pete Times writers who created a podcast, then a statewide poker magazine and now a national magazine.
