Erin DiMeglio's turn as a history-making quarterback at South Plantation earned her plenty of national media attention.
Last month it also earned her a spot in the Congressional Record.
As part of Women's History Month, freshman congresswoman Lois Frankel, a Democrat from West Palm Beach, recently spoke about DiMeglio's accomplishments on Capitol Hill.
This fall, DiMeglio became the first girl to play quarterback in a varsity football game in Florida. She also became the first girl to complete a pass in a varsity game.
The senior also played basketball and is currently the quarterback for the Paladins flag football team.
Her recognition in Congress isn't the only accolade DiMeglio has picked up recently. In November, she was one of eight recipients of the Florida Commission on the Status of Women Florida Achievement Award. And later this month, she'll be honored by National High School Coaches Association.
