Bass Buddies: Painting Like the Masters. Designed for children 4-6, art class allows participants to explore their creative side with painting, drawing or sculpting and may include a science experiment, museum walk, themed game or more. Food and Garden Festival. Come celebrate local foods and the gardens they grow in. Featuring the 34th Annual Spring Plant Sale, there will also be culinary and gardening demonstrations and a Kidway section where kids can learn about the germination process. Butterfly Walk. A park ranger will lead a walking tour through the hardwood hammocks. You’ll learn about the several species of butterflies encountered along the way and about which plants attract them to your backyard. There will be butterfly plants available for purchase in the gift shop. Be sure to wear walking shoes and bring a bottle of water. Reservations are required. 11 a.m.-noon. Night Walk and Campfire. Learn about South Florida’s nocturnal creatures, go on a nature hike to look for the Eastern Screech Owl and then roast marshmallows by a campfire. Youth Decathlon & Fitness Challenge. Children 17 and under can challenge themselves with obstacle and agility courses, a 40 yard run, and exercises. Second Annual Green Baby Fair Come learn about the healthy and sustainable options available for expectant mothers during pregnancy, birth, and early parenting.
