Activewear retailers make a run for Bucktown

Judging by the shifting retail mix on Bucktown's chic shopping corridor, one might think the neighborhood is a hub of marathoners, ski bunnies and rugged backpackers.

Stio, a Jackson Hole, Wyo.-based seller of $325 ski pants and $115 merino wool base layers, is bringing its "mountain town cool meets technical backcountry function" ethos to a 1,475-square-foot storefront at 1719 N. Damen Ave. in early spring 2015, the company's second location in the country.
