PIERRE, S.D. - South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard and Supreme Court Chief Justice David Gilbertson are recognizing court services officers, parole agents and juvenile corrections agents for their work in supervising offenders released into the community.
The governor and chief justice say those officers play a big role in making sure communities are safe, while also helping rehabilitate offenders so they can live successfully and productively.
Court services officers supervise people on probation, and parole agents supervise inmates who have been released on parole. Juvenile corrections agents supervise juvenile offenders.
Daugaard and Gilbertson have issued a proclamation designating the week beginning Sunday as a time to recognize court services officers, parole agents and juvenile corrections agents.
