Windham Middle School committed to an eight hour school day to allow additional learning time and include enrichment programs. The Charles H. Barrows STEM Academy was accepted into the North East Middle School Athletic Conference, allowing students to compete in track, basketball and soccer against other area middle schools. An earlier school start time is required to participate in sporting events. Changing the start and end time of two schools affected the district-wide bus transportation schedule, resulting in a change of school hours for the entire district.
