Pope meets with sex-abuse victims, apologizes on behalf of church

PHILADELPHIA Meeting privately with sex-abuse victims on the final day of his U.S. visit, Pope Francis apologized Sunday on behalf of the Catholic Church, saying he "deeply regretted that some bishops failed in their responsibility to protect children" and vowing that "everyone responsible will be held accountable."
