Cupich to City Council: Cardinal George offered 'treasure of hope'

Archbishop Blase Cupich delivered the invocation at Wednesday's Chicago City Council meeting in honor of his predecessor, the late Cardinal Francis George.

Cupich, making his first visit to the council, called on the aldermen to remember George's suffering as they admire the beauty of the season.

"He is one who had his own physical struggles in life and yet, he gave us hope, a sense of wonder," Cupich said.
