As the Enfield American Baptist Church celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, founding members are taking the opportunity to recall the past.
The very first meetings of the church were held in 1964 in the 37 School St. home of founding member Don McCord.
McCord, 84, recalled the initial meetings and said that there must have been around 10 people at those gatherings. He had a large enough living room to accommodate them all.
"It wasn't many, but it started getting built up," McCord said.
