1. The First lady's Oscar appearance

Will the pandering ever stop? Michelle Obama cemented it with her appearance at the Oscars. It's so inappropriate for the First lady to appear as she did. Just as she was formerly not proud of her country, we are embarrassed by her appearance. It...

3. And The Oscar Goes To...Argo For Best Picture

The 85th Annual Academy Awards were handed out last night and it looks like Ben Affleck’s Best Director snub didn’t ruin his film’s chances, because Argo continued its award show dominance, nabbing the night’s big honor Best Picture (which was announced by First Lady Michelle Obama). Overall Argo took home three awards, also winning Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Film Editing. As for the acting categories, there really weren’t too many surprises, with all of the frontrunners walking away winners. As expected, Best Actor went to Daniel Day Lewis for Lincoln (the first actor to win three Oscars in the Lead Actor category), with Jennifer Lawrence taking home Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook (and falling up the stairs as she went to accept); Anne Hathaway winning Best Supporting Actress for Les Miserables and Christoph Waltz winning Best Supporting Actor for Django Unchained. Other winners included: Ang Lee, Best Director for Life of Pi; Brave, Best Animated Feature; Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, Best Original Screenplay and Adele’s “Skyfall,” Best Original Song.

5. Michelle Obama on the Oscars: The behind-the-scenes story

On Feb. 14, a Hollywood delegation showed up at the White House. Motion Picture Academy President Hawk Koch, Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron and film mogul Harvey Weinstein had come to explore a rather important matter (for them): They wanted to see if they could secretly work out the details for Michelle Obama to present best picture at the Oscars 10 days later.

7. The Oscars telecast's rocky road

Last night's Oscars were like an emotional roller-coaster at a terrible amusement park--beginning wth Seth MacFarlane's as-bad-as-feared monologue, the show rarely rose above painful and hit few peaks. Allow us to relive some of the night's best and worst moments, not necessarily in that order.

9. Michelle Obama image altered - Oscar gown too racy for Iran audience?

Pop2it
Michelle Obama made a splash at the 85th Academy Awards when she appeared live via satellite from the White House to present the Best Picture Oscar to "Argo." But her sleeveless, scoop necked sequin gown would have apparently made too big a splash in...

13. Oscars 2013: Ang Lee is worthy, but better than Steven Spielberg?

Now that the dust has settled and cold reality has replaced airy speculation, it's clearer than ever that as far as the 2013 best picture Oscar was concerned, Hollywood's directors gave and took away.

"I THINK it's a terrible shame that politics has become show business," said director Sydney Pollack. WHILE first lady Michelle Obama lent herself to the opening of the Oscar envelope for best picture, bets were that she hoped the winner would turn out...

17. Oscars 2013: Seth MacFarlane could've learned from Clint Eastwood

So where's Clint Eastwood when you need him?
So where's Clint Eastwood when you need him? Sure, he hijacked Mitt Romney's convention with his bizarre soliloquy, a man and his chair. But the moment was spontaneous, surprising and captivating in the can't-turn-away fashion of an impending train...

21. MacFarlane relaxed, confident as Oscars host

Any uncertainty that surrounded Seth MacFarlane's ability to host the biggest night in movies was put to rest quickly when he took the stage Sunday at the 85th Academy Awards in Los Angeles. Showing considerable poise, MacFarlane, a man best known as the creative force behind the Fox animated series “Family Guy,” opened with a series of jokes that were bona fide winners, landing on just the right tone: confident but not cocksure.
