Sailfest, Waterfront area, New London. Sailfest is Southeastern Connecticut's premier summertime event attracting over 300,000 people over the three-day, July 8, 9 and 10 festival, complete with a major fireworks display, amusement rides, free entertainment, Tall Ship and over 100 vendors lining the downtown streets. Sailfest produces five stages of free entertainment with musical genres ranging in rock, celtic, hip hop and blues. Kids enjoy free shows and entertainment throughout the event. Time: full schedule TBA. Free.

Riverfest 2011,Hartford and East Hartford, CT,Hartford and East Hartford celebrate Independence Day on July 9 at Riverfest.
Riverfest features free entertainment, including live bands, musicians, clowns and other walk-a-bout entertainers, kids activities and more.A dazzling fireworks show over the river highlights this traditional Hartford festival.
Riverfest 20121 will be held in three locations along the Connecticut River. All three locations are in walking distance from each other. They are Mortensen Riverfront Plaza at 300 Columbus Boulevard in Hartford; and at Founders Plaza and Great River Park, both at 301 East River Drive in East Hartford. Food, drinks and merchandise will be sold at all sites. Rain date for fireworks only is July 10. Time: 4 - 9:30 p.m.

Summer Wine and Food Festival, Stonington Vineyards, 523 Taugwonk Road. Come enjoy two full days July 16 and 17 of delicious food paired with wine from the vineyard. Connecticut Wine Festival, Goshen Fairgrounds, Route 63. The Third Annual Connecticut Wine Festival returns to the Goshen Fairgrounds, July 30 and 31 in Connecticut this summer. Featuring fine wines, specialty food vendors, artisans, and live music. It is the perfect summer activity for both the amateur and sophisticated wine connoisseur. Sponsored by the Connecticut Vineyard and Winery Association, adult guests will enjoy the opportunity to sample the finest wines Connecticut has to offer from any of the state's top wineries.
