As the political heat has increased in recent months, the White House has tried to distance itself from Paul Manafort, Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman who was indicted Monday on 12 criminal counts for tax evasion and money laundering.
The ties have been downplayed, but it wasn’t always that way.
In fact, Manafort was in constant contact with Trump in 2016 when he was serving as campaign chairman during the Republican National Convention in Cleveland and beyond.
