There are 118 Illinois House seats on the ballot Tuesday, but for Republicans, the magic number is one. The GOP knows it's highly unlikely it will catch a tidal wave and sweep Speaker Michael Madigan out of power. But all the House Republicans need to do is end up with one more seat and the long-serving Southwest Side Democrat will no longer hold a supermajority of 71 members.
