Emails Show Continuing Rift In Manchester Democratic Party

MANCHESTER — The mayor and the Democratic Town Chairman exchanged terse and sometimes testy emails over a proposal to change the way the town adopts its budget, according to copies of the messages sent to The Courant Wednesday.

The emails between committee Chairman Mike Pohl and Mayor Jay Moran, a Democrat, show a continuing divide among party leaders that surfaced most noticeably this year around a bipartisan compromise on the board of directors.

Pohl launched the dialogue by alerting party members, including Moran, to a meeting slated for Thursday at party headquarters.
