Little-known facts: The town of Orange was the home of the nation's first computer camp in 1977. It was also a site for the deployment of Nike missiles for the defense of Greater New Haven during the Cold War. (Now the site is part of the Connecticut Air National Guard.) Its current claim to fame: Orange is the North American headquarters of PEZ candies, whose visitor center now hosts 100,000 people annually since opening in 2011. Not bad for a little town of 14,000 residents.
