Bill to Force Sale of New Haven's Union Station To The City Wins Committee Approval

A controversial “conveyance” bill that would force the state to sell the New Haven train station to the city for $1 million and transfer other state properties to towns or individuals took another step forward in the General Assembly this week.

The legislature’s Government Administration and Elections Committee stripped out two other land transfers opposed by environmentalists before voting 17-0 Monday in favor of the measure.
