Jack Lavin, a former chief of staff for then-Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, on Tuesday was named president and CEO of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, effective Dec. 1.
Lavin, 55, becomes the sixth leader in the group’s 113-year history, replacing Theresa Mintle, who resigned in June after almost four years in the post.
Lavin also served as the state’s chief operating officer and before that as director of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Before that, he worked at Abbott Laboratories.
